Passengers encouraged to use caution when traveling; Crews out clearing platforms and passenger areas to help ensure safe travel tonight and tomorrow

BOSTON – February 7, 2021 – Keolis Commuter Services and the MBTA are advising the public to take extra precautions if they need to travel tonight or tomorrow. Due to the forecast, Commuter Rail will continue to operate on a Winter Schedule that was approved by the MBTA’s Fiscal and Management Control Board in December 2020, and this schedule is available at MBTA.com for passengers to plan their trips.

“Our crews have been out throughout the day clearing platforms and other critical areas of Commuter Rail, including switches and rail infrastructure,” said David Scorey, Keolis CEO and General Manager. “With the snowfall expected to stop tonight, crews will work throughout the evening to help ensure the safe operation of Commuter Rail in the morning.”

MBTA and Keolis personnel have been deployed across Commuter Rail to clear snow and apply sand and salt to passenger areas.”

Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service anticipate a range of snow totals impacting the region where Commuter Rail operates.
