Winter Storm Plan activated to help minimize snowfall’s impact to service; Passengers reminded to use caution when traveling
BOSTON – March 3, 2017 – Keolis Commuter Services (Keolis), the MBTA’s commuter rail operating partner, is preparing passenger areas, equipment and track infrastructure for snow anticipated to arrive overnight Sunday, March 3, and into the Monday, March 4, morning commute.
“Our goal is to minimize the storm’s impact on the commuter rail network and for our passengers who rely on this service,” said David Scorey, CEO and General Manager, Keolis. “Passengers who plan to travel tomorrow should give themselves extra time to get to train stations and please use caution when boarding trains. Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service show a range of snow totals impacting the greater Boston area from the evening of Sunday, March 3 through the morning of Monday, March 4.
This year the MBTA and Keolis simplified severe weather service levels to include three tiers: Regular Schedule, Storm Schedule and No Service. Service for Monday, March 4, will be a Regular Schedule.
