KEOLIS ANNOUNCES THAT MBTA COMMUTER RAIL FINISHED JANUARY 2016 WITH ON-TIME PERFORMANCE OF 92 PERCENT

BOSTON, MA – March 2, 2016 – Keolis Commuter Services, which operates the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail system, finished the first month of 2016 with a 92 percent on-time performance rate for all lines, with some individual lines posting performance between 95 and 97 percent.

When adjusted for delay factors beyond Keolis’ control, on-time performance for January rose to 94 percent. Keolis officials said January is typically a challenging month because of colder temperatures and winter’s first snow.

“These latest performance figures demonstrate that we can and will continue to improve service and reliability for our passengers,” said Keolis Commuter Services General Manager Gerald C. Francis. “We’re now focused on going further, improving not only our on-time performance but the service we provide our passengers each and every day.”
