Minor Schedule Adjustments to Providence, Franklin Lines go into effect January 23, 2023

BOSTON – Beginning on Monday, January 23, 2023, the Providence and Franklin Lines of the MBTA Commuter Rail will operate on new schedules that makes minor adjustments designed to avoid delays related to train traffic and improve on time performance.  The Providence Line schedule has also been adjusted to accommodate service at the new Pawtucket station.

The adjusted schedules are available online at https://www.mbta.com/schedules/commuter-rail and in stations.  Passengers can stay connected with Commuter Rail by calling customer service at 617-222-3200, following @MBTA_CR on Twitter or signing up for T-Alerts at www.mbta.com/alerts.

Providence Inbound weekday service:

  • All trains between Providence or Wickford Junction and Boston will have minor schedule adjustments to accommodate service at the new Pawtucket/Central Falls station. Impacted trains are: 800, 802, 804, 806, 808, 810, 812, 814, 816, 818, 820, 822, 824, 826, 828, 830, 832, 834, 836, 838
  • The following trains will depart their origin station two minutes earlier: 816, 836

 

Providence Outbound weekday service:

  • All trains between Boston and Providence or Wickford Junction will have minor schedule adjustments to accommodate service at the new Pawtucket/Central Falls station. Impacted trains are: 801, 803, 805, 807, 809, 811,813, 815, 817, 817, 819, 821, 823, 825, 827, 829, 831, 833, 835, 837

Providence Inbound and Outbound weekend service:

  • All trains will have minor adjustments to accommodate service at the new Pawtucket/Central Falls station

Franklin Inbound weekday service:

  • The following trains will have minor schedule adjustments to reduce train traffic and improve operations between Readville and South Station: 704, 706, 708, 712, 716, 720, 724

Franklin Outbound weekday service:

  • The following trains will have minor schedule adjustments to reduce train traffic and improve operations between Readville and South Station: 741, 743, 703, 747, 749, 751, 753, 755, 757, 759, 761

Franklin Inbound/ Outbound weekend service: no changes
